What are some money saving tips?

I always advice young working class adults to take note of their monthly expenses. Some monthly expenses are not necessary or considered necessities. This is especially, when more than 50% of your monthly income is going to bills and miscellaneous expenditures.

So, what are some money saving tips?

Here are some money savings tips to help you save money monthly.

  1. Avoid Credit Card

You have no business owning a credit card, if you can barely make ends meet. This is because a credit card will only be additional expenses to the monthly expenses you already have.

2. Live Within Your Means

If your monthly bills such as car note, rent or food expenses take more than 50% of your monthly income. Then, you need to live within your means. By living within your means, I mean not spending more than you can afford to. This is with respect to your living abode, the kind of car you drive, what you wear and such.

3. Save A Percentage Of Your Income

If you are part of the working class, you will have observe by now that most of your monthly income go to bills. If you are not saving a percentage of your income, it feels like you are working for someone else. So, try to pay yourself first.

4. Deal Away With Multiple Media Streams

Some people have multiple streaming media they pay for every month. I have been to some households where there are Netflix, Amazon, HBO Max, Vudu and a few other used simultaneously. This could amount to more than a $100 monthly. That is $1200 annually not being saved.

5. Limit Your TakeOut

I have to say it is harder to cook as an adult. This is especially when you are single. But, you have to make your own food.

You have to limit your takeouts. Not saying not to eat our, but just limit it to once a week or a few times a month. That way, you save money.

6. Learn A New Skill

If you feel like your current income is not leaving much for you to save after your monthly bills, then you need to learn a new skill that will help you improve your income. If you can improve your income, then you have the chance to save more. This is because your income has improved.

Like I said, you can only save when you live frugally. You can make twice your monthly income, but if you are spending unnecessarily, then there will not be a chance for you to save money.

On the whole, it is all about taking your whole expenses into consideration. Deal away with the ones you can live without. Save the money the expenses would have been taking. Not saying to have pleasures for the sake of saving, just saying to make sure unnecessary expenses are not eating up your paycheck.
